Cookie Policy

Status: Technical Draft for Legal Review•Draft Date: September 14, 2026•Governing Framework: Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA)

1. What This Policy Covers

This is the complete list of cookies WetinNext sets in your browser. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, analytics cookies, or any third-party data-broker cookies. Every cookie below is first-party and exists solely to make the platform function.

2. Cookies We Set

NameCategoryPurposeDuration
wn_accessStrictly NecessaryAuthenticates your API requests while you are signed in.15 minutes
wn_refreshStrictly NecessaryKeeps you signed in without storing your password in the browser.30 days
sidebar_stateFunctionalRemembers whether you left the dashboard sidebar open or collapsed.7 days

wn_access and wn_refresh are marked httpOnly and Secure, meaning they cannot be read by page scripts and are only sent over encrypted connections. sidebar_state is a plain preference cookie read directly by the page.

3. Why We Don't Show a Consent Banner

Cookie consent banners exist to gate non-essential cookies, such as advertising or analytics trackers, behind your opt-in. Every cookie WetinNext sets is strictly necessary to sign you in or is a basic interface preference, both of which are recognised as exempt from consent requirements under prevailing data protection frameworks. We disclose them here instead of interrupting your visit with a banner that would have nothing meaningful for you to opt in or out of.

4. Managing Cookies

You can clear or block cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking wn_access or wn_refresh will sign you out and prevent you from staying signed in. Blocking sidebar_state only resets your sidebar preference on each visit.
